Nicosia, Cyprus, 18 November 2011 - Inaugural Conference (CEDRAC - The Cyprus Eurasia Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Center). The conference will review International Trends in Arbitration and introduce CEDRAC and the CEDRAC Rules.
A new international arbitration institution is being launched in Cyprus to serve the wider Mediterranean and Eurasian region. Cyprus is an UNCITRAL Model Law jurisdiction, with a developed common law system, a sophisticated judiciary and a genuine service mentality, advanced infrastructure and excellent transport links, offering a credible alternative to traditional European arbitral seats. CEDRAC is committed to excellence and to serving the needs of commercial parties involved in international disputes and welcomes referrals of future or existing disputes. CEDRAC draws on the experience of a diverse and experienced Court and case management staff supporting and supervising its activities.

The Anglo-Russian Law Association in conjunction with White & Case LLP and One Essex Court, is pleased to invite you to the ARLA AGM, Seminar and Drinks Reception.
The seminar will be chaired by David Goldberg (Partner, White & Case).
Marcos Dracos (One Essex Court) will speak on the ancillary measures obtainable in Cypriot courts in support of foreign court and/or arbitration proceedings.
Andrew Lenon QC (One Essex Court) will then provide an overview of recent cases in the English courts involving Russian, Kazakh and Ukrainian parties. Please note that the seminar will be given in English only. No Russian language translation will be provided at this event.

We are delighted to announce the 9th Chartered Institute of Arbitration Membership Qualification Seminar organised by Capital Business Events Limited in conjunction with the Institute, with support from the Anglo-Russian Law Association (ARLA), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (RF CCI), the Kazakhstan International Arbitration, Kazakhstan Arbitration Institute and the Eurasian Mediation Centre of Kazakhstan. The Seminar will take place on 3 - 5 November 2010 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Seminar participants will have a unique opportunity, through a specially developed programme of oral tests, discussions and written exams in English or in Russian, to qualify for membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Speaker : Professor Hiroshi Oda, consultant in relation to Russia, CIS and Japanese law at Herbert Smith LLP.
Professor Oda specialises in Japanese and Russian Commercial Law. He is also a professor at the College d’Europe (Brugge). He is the author of Japanese Law (second edition) published by Oxford University Press (2001) and Russian Commercial Law (second edition) published by Martinus Nijhof (2007). He is now working on the third edition of Japanese Law to be published from the Oxford University Press.
Professor Oda is an arbitrator in the Moscow International Court of Commercial Arbitration and Stockholm Institute of Arbitration. He is a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris representing Japan and a qualified attorney in Japan and practices Japanese and Russian law.
